Who would have ever imagined that something as common as Kraft paper could serve as a key player in protecting metal and metal parts from corrosion? And yet, when Kraft paper is combined or infused with VCI (which stands for vapor corrosion inhibitors) this lightweight paper is transformed into a heavyweight fighter in the battle against rust and its trail of destruction.

VCI paper (we call it ARMOR WRAP® VCI paper) is a clean, dry packaging material designed for the protection of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. When metal parts are wrapped or enclosed in VCI paper, VCIs activate and fill up the vapor space inside the packaging. The VCI ions form a shield of protection on the surface of metal that displaces moisture and repels rust.

ARMOR WRAP® VCI paper protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals from rust and corrosion.  We combine neutral, pH Kraft paper with our ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology™ (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor) to create this rust-busting heavy hitter.

ARMOR WRAP is clean, dry and easy-to-use rust prevention. We embed VCI on BOTH sides of the paper (different from the one-sided format manufactured by most VCI companies) to double its protection and to make it darn-near foolproof to apply.

​

Once metal parts are enclosed in ARMOR WRAP, ARMOR VCIs activate to form a blanket of protection on the surface of the metal that displaces moisture and repels rust. Say “night, night” to rust and corrosion on metal/metal parts in storage or shipping because as we like to say, “ARMOR WRAP has got you covered.”

ARMOR WRAP is environmentally safe, fully recyclable and repulpable and it is offered in sheets or rolls of global, multi-metal protection and military-approved formulations with the option to add reinforced, wax or poly coatings.

The U.S. Department of Defense maintains a strict set of regulations for all military packaging, including items such as anti-corrosion paper, and Armor Protective Packaging® has been U.S. Military approved for MIL-PRF-3420 since 1983.

ARMOR WRAP® MPI VCI paper is a multi-tasking, rust-prevention paper for multiple metal types. But, what ARMOR WRAP MPI paper is best at is keeping non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, galvanized, tin, corrosion-freaking-free!

In 2019, ARMOR fine-tuned its MPI formulation and after two years of lab and field-trial testing, it debuted a new-and-improved ARMOR WRAP MPI VCI paper with enhanced corrosion inhibiting performance specifically for aluminum and galvanized metals.

​

It’s the combination of neutral, pH Kraft paper and ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology® (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor) that give this rust-prevention paper its “punch.” Once metal parts are wrapped or enclosed in ARMOR MPI paper, the VCIs activate to form a shield of protection on the surface of metal that displaces moisture and repels rust.

ARMOR WRAP® SCRIM VCI PAPER

The “Ironman” of ARMOR VCI Paper

With ARMOR WRAP® SCRIM VCI paper sheets or rolls, you get all of the rust prevention and metal protection benefits of ARMOR WRAP® VCI paper, but on steroids!

​

SCRIM VCI paper is ultra-tough — it is designed to stand up to the heavy demands of large metal pieces, bulky metal cargo, bar stock and/or their sharp edges and corners.

​

The secret to SCRIM VCI paper’s strength is its triple coating. One side of the paper is coated with web-like fiberglass scrim to add enhanced strength, puncture resistance and stability. This same side of the paper is also coated with low-density polyethylene, which provides a barrier against moisture, dirt or debris. The reverse side contains ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology™ (our secret formula for vapor corrosion inhibitor) that when activated, forms a blanket of protection on the surface of metal that repels rust.

 

When used properly, SCRIM VCI paper sheets or rolls keep ferrous and non-ferrous metals rust-free for up to 3 years. It is non-hazardous, environmentally friendly and prevents rust during the storage, transport or export of large metal parts, pieces, or bulky metal cargo.
