VCI FILM

Dual-Benefit Rust Prevention

VCI film protects metal from rust and corrosion in two ways — it serves as a physical barrier against moisture, dust or contaminants, and as a rust-eradicating corrosion inhibitor.

​

VCI film can be manufactured in many forms including rolls, sheets, bags or tubing and it is an easy-to-use, clean and dry packaging option for metal and metal parts.

​

In simplest terms, VCI film is created when linear, low density polyethylene (poly film) is impregnated with vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI) but take note, there’s no birds-and-the-bees twist to this union — instead, the result is VCI film.

 

To use VCI film, place metal or metal parts in VCI film and seal — there’s no messy grease or oil to apply.  Once metal/metal parts are enclosed, VCIs activate to form a layer of protection on the surface of the metal parts that displaces moisture and repels rust. Viola – it’s easy, peasy!

ARMOR POLY® VCI FILM

A Multifunctional Film for Multi-Metal Protection

ARMOR POLY® VCI film protects metal from the evils of rust and corrosion. Not only do they serve as a physical barrier against moisture and humidity, all ARMOR POLY films contain ARMOR’s proprietary VCI Nanotechnology™ (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor).  Once metal is enclosed or wrapped in ARMOR POLY, VCIs activate to form a superhero-like corrosion-inhibiting shield on the surface of the metal to repel rust.


ARMOR POLY is a clean, dry and easy-to-apply packaging option for metal/metal parts.  Available in rolls, sheets, bags, tubing and shrink film, ARMOR POLY VCI films are transparent, heat sealable, environmentally friendly and recyclable.  As an added benefit, many of the ARMOR POLY films contain ARMOR’s Bright Idea Technology™ — under a black light they emit glowing visible proof that VCI is present.

Tough-As-Nails Protection that Doesn’t Break the Bank

Prevent rust with the ARMOR DEFENDER™ VCI Film, a film designed for strength, longer-term protection and cost effectiveness.

 

The DEFENDER is a multi-layer film that positions ARMOR’s proprietary VCI Nanotechnology™ (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor) on the inside layer of the film closest to the metal parts. This strategic placement and design reduces the quantity of VCI resin needed (without reducing performance) and offers customers savings in cost and resources!

 

The DEFENDER’s middle and outer layers are constructed for superior barrier protection, durability and puncture resistance and the result is a film with 50 percent more barrier protection than comparable single-layer films.

 

Simply put, ARMOR DEFENDER VCI film provides high performance without the high cost.

A Rust-Preventing Powerhouse for the Long Haul

ARMOR CRUSADER™ VCI Film is ultra tough in protecting ferrous and non-ferrous metals from rust and corrosion in long-term storage. It’s three-layer construction stands up to the most demanding conditions.

The CRUSADER positions ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology™ (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor) on the inside layer closest to metal/metal parts to maximize its effectiveness.  The outer layers are designed for additional barrier protection, increased durability and puncture resistance resulting in an 80% decrease in oxygen transmission and five times the barrier protection over single-layer films.

ARMOR FOUNDRY FILM™

Forged to Protect

ARMOR VCI FOUNDRY Film™ was developed to protect metals exposed to the harsh conditions of metal foundries, stamping plants and metal machine shops. This foundry-specific design is a rust-preventing VCI film (thanks to ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology™) that is wickedly-strong, powerfully puncture resistant yet eco- and economically-friendly.

​

FOUNDRY Film contains ARMOR’s proprietary VCI Nanotechnology (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor) that kicks into gear once metal is enclosed or wrapped. The VCIs activate to form a shield on the surface of metal that prevents rust.

​

In addition, a portion of FOUNDRY Film is made from recycled materials. Remnants of ARMOR VCI film are recycled as part of the FOUNDRY Film manufacturing process, thereby reducing ARMOR’s operational waste, decreasing the cost of the film; while at the same time increasing its VCI content and performance.

Extreme Protection for Extreme Conditions

ARMOR VCI SEA Film™ is formulated to withstand Mother Nature’s most threatening outdoor conditions and to protect metal and metal parts from rust and corrosion that could form as a result.

SEA Film is constructed to protect metal in three ways: 1. it emits ARMOR’s proprietary VCI Nanotechnology™ (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor), which form a corrosion-inhibiting shield to keep the surface of metal free from rust, 2. it acts as a physical barrier against the harshest of outdoor conditions, 3. SEA Film contains an Ultra Violet (UV) light inhibitor to combat the damaging heat of UV light.

SEA Film’s high-grade protection is ideal for metal and metal parts exposed to the elements during outdoor storage or overseas transport and with it’s unique, multi-layer design it can often be down-gauged to reduce cost without compromising performance.

Stretch-and-Secure Rust Prevention

ARMOR POLY® VCI Stretch Film combines the benefit of superior stretch film with ARMOR’s proprietary VCI Nanotechnology (a.k.a., our “secret recipe” for vapor corrosion inhibitor) to protect ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Once metal is enclosed, wrapped and secured, ARMOR’s Stretch Film emits VCI which activate to form a corrosion-inhibiting shield on the surface of the metal that prevents rust.

Use ARMOR VCI Stretch Film or our heavy-gauged, 5-inch ARMOR VCI Banding Film to wrap, bundle or unitize metal parts or shipments securely with the added assurance that the film’s VCI is protecting the contents from rust and corrosion.
